Cork City Gaol Museum
Cork is a city with a very rich historical and archaeological heritage much of it still in evidence today. Part of this heritage, Cork City Gaol, is a magnificent castle-like building which once housed 19th century prisoners.
In 2018 Mirador Media was tasked with the redevelopment of the ageing visitor experience. The reception area was completely refurbished with multimedia elements added to create a sense of anticipation for the visitors. The audio tour was redonne and made available in 13 languages while more cells were opened-up to the public and re-organised thematically. Hands-on interactive games were also produced and the diorama of the gaol was remodelled and re-decorated to the highest standard.
