lullymore heritage and discovery park
Lullymore Heritage and Descovery Park is a community run visitor centre in the Bog of Allen, Co Kildare. It is based on 60 acres of bog land and prides itself on providing a fun atmosphere for families with children of all ages. Throughout the park there are replica buildings which are used to exhibit aspects of periods in time that were relevent to the bog and surrounding area. Much of the existing exhibition was outdated and required upgrading.
The first stage of the upgrade took place in 2012 and included the design & delivery of a device-based audio tour, two holographic projections, indoor & outdoor information panels, a series of lifelike fibreglass figures, indoor and outdoor audio sound & lighting effects, a series of interactive touch screens, a replica bog body, a diorama, and props/ decor design & construction.
As the visitor park grows each year so does the visitor experience with additions and upgrades provided by Mirador. The most recent upgrade includes outdoor signage with built-in crank-up audio players, a 130sq m graphic vinyl building wrap, a replica transportation ship’s hold with convict, a series of life-size fibreglass figures, the addition of 5 languages to the audio tour, and a multisensory Newgrange experience where visitors can observe the effect of the winter solstice sunlight passing through the tomb.
