Nano Nagle Place Museum
The Nano Nagle heritage experience engagingly describes life in 18th century Cork before going on to explore the story of how Nano Nagle worked tirelessly to help and educate the poor and disadvantaged of the city. The visitor can then interactively discover how the order she founded, the Presentation Sisters, has travelled across the globe to continue her work. Younger visitors can avail of a special booklet to help them discover the museum, with crayons to take on their visit and bring home. In 2020, Mirador was tasked with the refurbishment of their display cabinets showcasing their priceless collection. The existing units were brought up to standard with the addition of secure glass front mahogony doors with safety locks. Mirador also upgraded the existing period windows, which were a great source of concern in terms of humidity control, by adding internal framing and acrylic glass which had the effect of dramatically reducing drafts and humidity whilst keeping the original fabric of the building intact.
